The Épie is a river in France that runs in the Cantal department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the Monts du Cantal massif , on the eastern flank of the Puy Grandval summit (1648 m), in the northeastern municipal area of Brezons . The Épie generally drains in a south-easterly direction through the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park and flows into the Truyère as a right tributary after around 28 kilometers in the municipal area of Neuvéglise-sur-Truyère in the backwater of the Barrage de Sarrans .
