The Lutter Mühlenbach is an approximately ten kilometer long lowland stream in the municipalities of Visbek , Goldenstedt and in the city of Vechta in Lower Saxony .
The Lutter Mühlenbach rises on the Weser-Ems watershed , in the Visbeker Flur Dieschlag , north-northeast of the silting Schlatt- like heather pond, Trennmoor, two kilometers south of the Visbeck town center .
The stream first crosses the separation moor, which is designated as a natural monument, and then flows south, between the Visbeker farmers' groups Astrup and Norddöllen , it meanders through the westernmost foothills of the Herrenholz forest - Freesenholz and Holterhagen - and passes the eponymous village of Lutten on the western outskirts of the town , swings to the southwest and flows into the Lutter Wiebrakwiesen (in the Flur Im Langen ) in the Vechtaer Moorbach (Alte Bäke) .
The condition of the Lutter Mühlenbach has deteriorated considerably in recent years due to agricultural influences. Since the area around the brook is used by the Vechta waterworks to obtain water, the upper reaches of the brook in particular are mostly dry.
