Luxhaus ( proper spelling LUXHAUS ) is a medium-sized, owner-managed prefabricated house manufacturer in the German-speaking area. The company's headquarters are in Georgensgmünd , Bavaria , in Middle Franconia . The company deals with the construction planning and construction of individual single-family houses in vapor-permeable wood panel construction.
Group of companies
In addition to Luxhaus, the entrepreneur Alexander Lux also runs the company "O.LUX" based in Roth and an element manufacturing plant based in Georgensgmünd, which carry out orders from the commercial and public sectors. The group of companies owns the start-up company "auten.wiewir "based in Roth.
Sales are around 250 houses per year with an annual turnover of around 68 million euros (as of 2017).
history
In 1924 Jakob Lux, the grandfather of today's owner Alexander Lux, founded a sawmill and a timber trade in his hometown of Greding . After the war, his son Oswald Lux developed this company further and set up a joinery and carpentry shop in Roth . In 1961 the first prefabricated house was built. The investment in Nordhaus-Fertigbau GmbH took place in 1964. In 1965 the first “Nordhaus” was built in Vach near Fürth, and this year another 15 houses were built. The production was expanded in the following years. Branches were in Dirmstein, Ilshofen, Bregenz and Vienna. In 1980 the company had 452 employees in all branches.
In the following years Oswald Lux improved the manufacturing process and led the company to the industrial production of prefabricated houses. Until 1982 the company was involved in Nordhaus sales. After the bankruptcy of the original company Oswald Lux GmbH, Luxhaus GmbH was founded as an independent company in 1982. In the meantime, Luxhaus sales has expanded to include locations in Germany, Mallorca and Luxembourg. Production is still carried out exclusively in Georgensgmünd in Franconia .

In 2003, in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, the company developed the Climatic wall, which is recommended by the Institute for Building Biology in Rosenheim.
