Lynda Bellingham , OBE , (born May 31, 1948 in Montreal , Canada as Meredith Lee Hughes , † October 19, 2014 in London ) was a British actress .

Life

Lynda Bellingham attended Aylesbury High School and studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London from 1966 to 1969 . Bellingham had one of her first appearances in 1972 as a nurse Hilda Price in the series General Hospital . In 1986 she starred in 14 episodes of the Doctor Who series . In the same year, after Carol Drinkwater's exit , Bellingham took on the role of Helen Herriot in the television series The Doctor and the Dear Cattle . From 1991 to 1994 she played the female lead in the comedy series Second Thoughts and from 1995 to 1998 in its sequel Faith in the Future . From 2007 Bellingham took part as a panelist on the weekday talk show Loose Women on the British broadcaster ITV . On season 7 of the television show Strictly Come Dancing , Bellingham finished 7th with her partner Darren Bennett in 2009.

Bellingham was married to Michael Pattemoore for the third time. From the 1996 divorced marriage with Nunzio Peluso had two sons. She died in October 2014 of complications from cancer.
