Mönchshof is a place in the Upper Franconian market Ebensfeld in the district of Lichtenfels .

geography

The wasteland is about two kilometers northwest of Ebensfeld near the Main . It belongs to the Banzgau , a long triangle between the Itz and the Main, south of Banz Monastery .

history

Mönchshof was first mentioned around 1249, when Pope Innocent IV confirmed all the property of the Langheim monastery , including "Grangias", a cattle farm near "Durigstat" (Döringstadt). In 1252, Bamberg's bishop Heinrich confirmed that his predecessor, Bishop Ekbert, had transferred goods to the monastery for its farm near Döringstadt . In the land register of the Langheim monastery, the farm consisting of seven selden and vineyards was described around 1420 .

In 1516 the estate was named "Munnchhoff vnter Dhurinngstadt". 1586 was in the land register of the convent: "A location Hoff vnterhalb Duringstadt." He was cen- and tax-free and had only interest on the Vogt to Döringstadt the Bamberger Domprobstei pay.

In 1731 the settlement was described as a farm, located below the "Dürnstaat", which included a meadow, the "Münchsanger" and a wood on the "Münchsleithen". In 1801 Mönchshof was a courtyard with two houses, whose fiefdom and bailiff belonged to the Langheim monastery and which had to pay taxes to the monastery office. In 1862 Mönchshof was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian District Office Staffelstein . The village belonged to the rural community Döringstadt in the regional court district Staffelstein .

In 1871 Mönchshof had seven residents and seven buildings. The Catholic school and church were in Döringstadt, 0.5 kilometers away. In 1900, the villages of the rural community Döringstadt covered an area of ​​668.57 hectares, 386 inhabitants, all of whom were Catholic, and 78 residential buildings. 13 people lived in Mönchshof in a residential building and in 1925 six people lived in a residential building. In 1950 Mönchshof had eleven residents and one residential building. In 1970 the wasteland had eight inhabitants.

On July 1, 1972, the Staffelstein district was dissolved. Döringstadt was incorporated into the Lichtenfels district with Mönchshof and Ebensfeld was added as part of the municipality.
