The Mühlbach is a left tributary of the Altmühl in the Franconian Alb near Dietfurt in the Upper Palatinate .

The Mühlbach rises from the Mühlbachquellhöhle , a water-active and spacious cave system that emerges in the Große Mühlbachquelle in the Mühlbach district. It flows south and flows after about 1.3 km into the former Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal , which merges there into the Altmühl .
