The Mühlbach is an almost four kilometers long left and northeastern tributary of the Elbbach in the Westerwald .

The Mühlbach rises at an altitude of about 356 m above sea level. NN in a forest southwest of the Hohlen Stein ( 412.6 m above sea level ), directly on the L 3280 north of the Elbe valley district Elbgrund .
It first flows south, bordering a mixed forest on the right and a coniferous forest on the left . After about 300 meters it changes to a forest meadow and paves a path between the Buschberg (right) and the Herbertshöhl (left). A little further south of the Buschberg there is a basalt quarry . The stream is now bordered by a meadow on the right and mixed forest on the left. It now flows through a small deciduous forest and is then in a meadow landscape. It now reaches Elbgrund and passes the place in a south-westerly direction at the height of the former municipality of Mühlbach.
His path now leads through fields and meadows west of Elbe Valley- Dorchheim and finally ends at an altitude of about 175 m above sea level. NN from the left and northeast into the Elbbach .
