The MV Agusta 350 Sport also MV Agusta 350 Ipotesi was a motorcycle of the MV Agusta company that was built from 1975 to 1977. This model series, which resulted from a design study, was made in 1991.
development
The predecessor model MV Agusta 350 S, built from 1970 to 1974 and offered in various model variations (350 GT, 350 GTE, 350 Scrambler, 350 S), was to be replaced by a model that was to undergo an optical upgrade based on the four-cylinder models. A design study by Giorgio Giugiaro , presented to the press in November 1973, attracted attention with its striking horizontal lines and sharp contours. The tubular backbone frame went from the steering head under the tank in a straight line to the stern. The angular cylinder heads, matching the straight lines of the machine, completed the then ultra-modern concept.
Technical specifications
The bumper motor, already installed in the 250 Bicilindrica from 1966, was technically only slightly revised. The electronic flywheel magneto known from the MV Agusta 350 GTE was used on the "Ipotesi" ; the engine was started using a kick starter. In contrast to the previous models, a double disc brake was installed at the front and a single disc brake at the rear. Alternatively, as engine performance were also 27 hp (20 kW) at 7,800 min -1 or 34 hp (25 kW) at 8,500 min -1 are available.
Model variants
The main components of the model variants were identical to the basic variant (MV Agusta 350 Sport).
- MV Agusta 350 Turismo also MV Agusta 350 GT (1976-77): A reduced-power version Tour (27 hp / 20 kW at 7600 min -1 ) with higher handlebars and other coating. A total of 350 copies of this model were made. This version was not offered in Germany.
- MV Agusta 500 S (1976–77): A drilled out version of the bumper motor with a 75 mm bore. Characterized the engine had 472 cc capacity and a power of 53 HP (39 kW) at 8,900 min -1 . The tires were changed to 3.00-18 at the front and 3.50-18 at the rear. Optional was a reduced-power version with 43 hp (32 kW) at 8,200 min -1 available that was offered from remnants still 1978th The MV Agusta 500 SS (1977), a racing version, available on special order according to the offer and in one-off production, was built by the then importer Hansen in Baden-Baden and Roland Schneider. The machine had a completely revised engine with double camshaft ( DOHC ) and 66 hp at 11,100 min -1 , five engines will have been built.
