Maciej Maciusiak (born March 28, 1982 in Zakopane ) is a former Polish ski jumper and today's ski jumping coach.

Career

Ski jumper

Maciusiak launched initially for TS Wisla Zakopane , but changed throughout his career because of a study in Katowice to AZS AWF Katowice . In international competitions he could not celebrate any success, so his attempts to qualify for the World Cup in Zakopane were unsuccessful in both the 1999/2000 and 2001/2002 seasons . Even in the second-rate Continental Cup , Maciusiak never reached the points.

At the Polish championships he won two medals. In 2002 he finished third for TS Wisła Zakopane together with Krystian Długopolski and Robert Mateja . Two years later he won the title for AZS AWF Katowice from Orlinek in Karpacz together with Krystian Długopolski, Tomisław Tajner and Tomasz Pochwała . In addition, he took third place in 1998 with the relay of TS Wisła Zakopane at Polish championships in Nordic combined.

After the 2004/05 season Maciusiak ended his career.

Ski jumping coach

In the 2005/2006 season, Maciusiak was assistant to the Polish youth coach Piotr Fijas, parallel to his studies . After working for the Polish Ski Federation in the following years, he was appointed assistant coach of the Polish youth squad alongside Robert Mateja for the 2001/12 season . Since 2012 he has been responsible for the B or C squad of the Polish national team in various functions and trained jumpers such as Dawid Kubacki , Maciej Kot and Jakub Wolny . At the moment he is again the coach of the Polish B-team, which mainly competes in the Continental Cup.
