Madaí Pérez ( Madaí Pérez Carrillo ; born February 2, 1980 ) is a Mexican marathon runner .

Life

In her debut over the 42.195-km distance, she was twelfth in the 2003 Chicago Marathon . In 2004 she finished second in the Rotterdam Marathon in 2:27:08 h, but had the bad luck that the Mexican Association had already completed the nominations for the Olympic Games in Athens . In the fall of the New York City Marathon, it started extremely quickly with a first half of 1:10:55 h, but then dismantled and finished ninth in 2:29:57 h.

In 2005 she was eleventh at the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 and sixth at the World Half Marathon Championships in Edmonton . The following year, she won bronze over 10,000 m at the Central American and Caribbean Games. She finished fourth in the Chicago Marathon , setting a Mexican record with 2:22:59 h.

In 2007 she was third in the Boston Marathon , fifth in the New York City Half Marathon and came 15th in the marathon of the World Championships in Osaka . In 2008 she was eighth in the Lisbon Half Marathon , second in the New York City Half Marathon and ran in the marathon of the Olympic Games in Beijing on 19th place.

After a year off, she finished third in the New York City Half Marathon in early 2010. A 14th place in Boston was followed by a ninth place in the New York City Marathon. In 2011 she won the Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon half marathon . In 2013 she took part in the Boston Marathon again and finished seventh.

Madaí Pérez comes from the state of Tlaxcala .
