Magdalena Amhof

Magdalena Amhof (born July 21, 1977 in Innichen ) is an Italian politician of the South Tyrolean People's Party (SVP).

biography

Amhof, who comes from St. Martin in Gsies , graduated from the Bruneck teacher training college in 1997 . In 2005 she completed her studies in political science and history at the Leopold-Franzens-University in Innsbruck with a jointly written diploma thesis on the “ethnic” reporting of various local radio and print media. After several years of work experience in various educational institutions in South Tyrol, she worked as the coordinator of professional training at the Tschuggmall state vocational school in Bressanone from 2010 .

Amhof made his first political candidacy at the age of twenty-three in the local elections in Brixen in 2000, but missed a place in the local council. In 2005 she competed again and this time with success. Mayor Albert Pürgstaller then appointed her to the city council, where she assumed responsibility for kindergarten, school, sport, integration, equal opportunities, people with disabilities and youth. In 2008 she ran for the Chamber of Deputies in the Italian parliamentary elections , but narrowly missed a mandate. In 2010 she successfully ran again in the Brixen municipal council elections. From 2010 to July 2013 she was city councilor for schools, urban planning and youth, and in July and August 2013 she was responsible for school, culture and youth. In the 2013 state elections , she was able to win a mandate for the South Tyrolean state parliament and, at the same time, the regional council Trentino-South Tyrol with 8,918 preferential votes . She was able to renew this five years later in the state elections in 2018 with 6,780 preferential votes.
