Magister Negi Magi Negima !? ( Jap. ?ネギま! , Negima !? ) is an original video animation and anime - television series from 2006 and a new interpretation of the manga Magister Negi Magi .

To complete his magician training, 10-year-old Negi Springfield must take a practical exam after graduating from Meldiana Academy. To his great surprise, this leads him to the Mahora girls' boarding school in Japan. There he will be the new English and class teacher for class 2-A.

However, a year after Negi's arrival in Mahora, two representatives of the Mages Academy arrive from Great Britain with extremely disturbing news. The Star Crystal, a mysterious artifact that is able to give its owner infinite power, has been stolen. Even if the circumstances of the disappearance remain unresolved, Negi and his students continue to feel the effects and have to try to cope with them. Meanwhile, Negi continues to try to find the whereabouts of his missing father.

Production and publication

On August 17, 2006, the OVA Negima !? Haru Special !? ( ネ ギ ま!? 春 ス ペ シ ャ ル!? ) From Studios Gansis and Shaft a reinterpretation of the manga. On September 17th, a second OVA called Negima !? Natsu Special !? ( ネ ギ ま!? 夏 ス ペ シ ャ ル!? ). The two 30-minute animes were published in English by FUNimation Entertainment and on July 28, 2008 in Germany by Anime Virtual as Magister Negi Magi Negima !? OVA 1 + 2 came out with the subtitle Spring Special and Summer Special .

From October 4, 2006 to March 28, 2007, the television series was broadcast on TV Tokyo . The anime was published in English by FUNimation Entertainment and in French by Kaze. It has also been translated into Tagalog. The complete series was released in 2006 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland under the title Magister Negi Magi Negima !? on the anime label Anime Virtual , released in 3 DVD boxes. On September 24, 2010, the series was then re-released as a complete edition under the renamed Kazé label, formerly Anime Virtual.

Akiyuki Shimbō directed all parts and Kazuhiro Ōta created the character design . The artistic direction took over the Haru Special Hiroshi Katō and the Natsu Special as well as the television series Megumi Katō.

The music in the series was produced by Kei Haneoka. For the opening credits, different versions of the song 1000% SPARKING! used, as well as for two episodes Eien no Toki o Koete by Junko Minagawa. The credits were underlaid with the songs Hoshizora Letter by Akemi Kanda, A-LY-YA! in ten different versions and Love Sensation by Rina Satō, Akemi Kanda and Ai Nonaka. For the end credits of the last episode, the opening credits were 1000% SPARKING! used.
