history

Niederhannsdorf is one of the oldest villages in the Glatzer Land , with which it shared the history of its political and ecclesiastical affiliation from the beginning. It was first mentioned in 1320 and at that time it already had a parish church. It initially consisted of several parts, which mostly had different owners. Among them were the Schaffgotsch , Zischwitz ( Tschischwitz ), Kober families and others. At the end of the 18th century there were three shares. The larger one belonged to the royal Prussian commissioner Christoph Bernhard, the second from the city of Glatz. The third share was a freehold estate, which came to the imperial count Franz Anton von Götzen in 1724 , who linked it with his rule in Oberhannsdorf. Via his son Johann Joseph von Götzen , this share came to Anton Alexander von Magnis in Eckersdorf in 1780 , with whose descendants it remained until the expropriation in 1945.

After the Silesian Wars , Niederhannsdorf and the County of Glatz came to Prussia in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg . After the reorganization of Prussia, Niederhannsdorf belonged to the province of Silesia from 1815 and was incorporated into the district of Glatz from 1816–1945 . In 1939 there were 1,300 inhabitants. As a result of the Second World War , in 1945, like all of Silesia, it fell to Poland and was renamed Jaszkowa Dolna . The German population was expelled. Some of the new residents were displaced from eastern Poland . 1975-1998 Jaszkowa Dolna belonged to the Wałbrzych Voivodeship (German Waldenburg ).

Attractions

  • The parish church of St. John the Baptist ( Kościół Św. Jana Chrzciciela ) was built from 1903 to 1905 according to plans by the architect Schneider in neo -Gothic style. It contains a rich set of equipment . The stained glass windows were supplied by the Munich court glass painter Franz Xaver Zettler . The altar painting of the church patron was created by the history painter Wilhelm von Wörndle , the Stations of the Cross paintings by Oswald Völkel from Schlegel, who works in Munich .
  • The previous church, mentioned in 1320, was redesigned in Baroque style in 1659 and 1793. In 1893 it was so badly damaged by lightning that the nave had to be demolished in 1900. The choir with ribbed vaults, which was closed off to the west by a wall, was preserved. The portal comes from the previous church and bears a heraldic cartouche and the year 1659. The choir serves as a burial chapel. It is surrounded by a wall with a Gothic gate building.
