Ścinawica [ ɕʨina'vʲiʦa ] (German Steinwitz ) is a village in the powiat Kłodzki in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland. It belongs to the rural community of Kłodzko ( Glatz ).
geography
Ścinawica four kilometers north of Kłodzko at the confluence of the stones in the Glatzer Neisse . Neighboring towns are Młynów and Podtynie in the northeast, Ławica in the east, Goszyce ( Hassitz ) in the southeast, Ustronie ( Halbendorf ) in the south, Gołogłowy in the southwest and Bierkowice in the northwest.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1330 as Stynewicz . For the year 1361 the spelling Steinewitz and 1378 the spelling Stynowicz is documented. It belonged to the Bohemian Glatzer Land , which was raised to the county of Glatz in 1459 by King George of Podebrady . Together with this it came to Prussia after the Silesian Wars with the Hubertusburg Peace in 1763 . After the reorganization of Prussia, Steinwitz belonged to the province of Silesia from 1815 and was incorporated into the district of Glatz from 1816–1945 , with which it remained connected until 1945. 1874 Stone joke was the District Koritau slammed shut. In 1926 the rural community Steinwitz was incorporated into the rural community Wiesau . In 1939 there were 440 inhabitants.
As a result of the Second World War , Steinwitz, like almost all of Silesia, fell to Poland in 1945 and was renamed Ścinawica . Unless they had fled before, the German population was expelled in 1946. Some of the new residents were displaced from eastern Poland . 1975-1998 Ścinawica belonged to the Wałbrzych Voivodeship ( Waldenburg ).
Ścinawica is predominantly agricultural. There is some small trade as well as remains of the formerly strong paper industry , which was a few kilometers away in Młynów ( Mühldorf ).
