Hollenau was first mentioned in 1347 as "Hololaw". It was part of the parish of Glatz and belonged to the Glatzer Land , with which it shared the history of its political and ecclesiastical affiliation from the beginning. In 1347 it belonged as a fief to the Tyczko von Pannwitz , with whose descendants it remained until the beginning of the 15th century. Then it fell to the Bohemian sovereign and in 1499 came to the Koritau Chamber Estate, which Emperor Rudolf II. As King of Bohemia sold to his cupbearer Friedrich von Falkenhain in 1577 . After that, Hollenau was subservient to the rule of Koritau until the patrimonial rule was abolished.

After the Silesian Wars , Hollenau and the County of Glatz came to Prussia in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg . For the period around 1795, there is evidence: a Kretscham , a tailor, eleven farmers and 13 gardeners and cottagers .

After the reorganization of Prussia, it belonged to the province of Silesia since 1815 and was incorporated into the district of Glatz from 1816–1945 . As a result of the Second World War , Hollenau fell to Poland in 1945, like almost all of Silesia, and was renamed Gołogłowy . The German population was expelled in 1946. Some of the new residents were displaced from eastern Poland . 1975-1998 Gołogłowy belonged to the Wałbrzych Voivodeship ( Waldenburg ).
