Mahmudia is a municipality in the Tulcea County in Romania . It is one of two communities on the Sfântu-Gheorghe-Arm (Eng. St. George's Arm ) of the Danube Delta , the other community is Murighiol .

The population there is made up of Romanians , Ukrainians , Lipovans and Turks .
