The Mahnertmühle is a former mill in Haan , Mettmann district . The mill is located on Scheidebach , which is called Mahnertbach (Mahnerter Bach) from the mill . Today a restaurant is operated in the mill . The main house has been a listed building since 1982 .

history

The mill was sold on January 6, 1906 by the Kolk family to Julius Paulus and his wife Johanne, nee Kortenhaus, for 36,000 gold marks . At that time, the operation consisted of cereal malt mill, Agriculture , grinding cottas , retail grocery and tavern . In 1908 the mill was shut down, and it was temporarily put back into operation for the First World War . In 1918 the mill was finally shut down.

There used to be a gondola pond belonging to the mill, but this pond no longer exists.

The Mahnert settlement was first mentioned in documents in 1372, according to some documents the Mahnertmühle already existed in the 15th century, but it was not recorded in the first topographical map of the Bergisches Land until 1715 .
