The living space was in the extreme east of Haans on the municipal border with Wuppertal in the middle of the Osterholz forest area , just south of the crest of an elevation and above pit 10 , in which limestone was extracted.

Nothing is known about the history of the residential area. The place is not yet shown on the maps from 1824 and 1843, Vogelsang is shown for the first time on the topographic map (TK25) 1892/94. The location was then recorded until 1974, Vogelsang is no longer shown on the map from 1983 and the residential area was razed. The place is wooded today.
