location

The Hofschaft is located in the far west of the district in the bottom of the Vohwinkeler Senke . The Krudtscheider Bach runs north of the village .

Neighboring locations are Osterholz , Simonshöfchen , Ölbers , Schrotzberg , Alt-Derken and Wüst fallen Steeg . Belonging to the neighboring community of Haan is neighboring: Birschels and now desolate fallen Mühlenfeld , Isenberg , Klevenhof and Vogelsang .

history

Zur Linden, a small court, was first mentioned in a document in 1448 and until the beginning of the 19th century it belonged to the Oberste Honschaft Haan in the Bergisches Amt of Solingen .

On a map from 1824 the location is shown as' z. Linde 'labeled. An earlier name as 'Zur Lynden' is also mentioned. In 1843 the location is on a map as 'Linden', on the topographic maps (TK25) from 1892/92 as 'Zur Linden'.

The route of the Düsseldorf – Elberfeld railway line was built between 1838 and 1841 by the Düsseldorf-Elberfelder Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft directly on the southern edge of the village. From 1907 the site was expanded to the south and the now former Vohwinkel marshalling yard was created.

The farm complex belonged to the parish of Haan and came to Vohwinkel in 1894 , which was united with Elberfeld and Barmen to Wuppertal in 1929.

The Hof zur Linden, where around 170 cattle are kept, was visited in 2011 by NRW Environment Minister Johannes Remmel .

Today's street

The street Zur Linden was named after this location . It branches off from Gruitener Strasse to the south and creates a connection to Vohwinkeler Strasse , while the 155-meter-long road tunnels under the railway line and the former Vohwinkel marshalling yard. She had received her name on May 9, 1990.
