The location of Schrotzberg in the Osterholz residential area in the Vohwinkel district of Wuppertal goes back to an old farm .

The Hofschaft is located in the extreme west of the district on the municipality border with Haan , on a slope that slopes down to the south. To the north, the Osterholz forest area joins Alt-Derken . The Krudtscheider Bach runs south of the village .

Neighboring locations are Osterholz , Simonshöfchen , Ölbers , Zur Linden , Alt-Derken and Wüst fallen Steeg . Belonging to the neighboring community of Haan is neighboring: Birschels and now desolate fallen Mühlenfeld , Isenberg , Klevenhof and Vogelsang .

history

Schrotzberg, a small court, belonged to the Oberste Honschaft Haan in the Bergisch Amt of Solingen until the beginning of the 19th century .

The farm complex belonged to the parish of Haan and came to Vohwinkel in 1894 , which was united with Elberfeld and Barmen to Wuppertal in 1929.

On a map from 1892/94, the location is labeled as 'Schrotsberg'. An earlier naming as 'Schrodtsberg' and 'Schroytzberg' is also mentioned. On the topographic maps (TK25) from 1927 to 1953 then 'Schrotzberg'. From the 1990s only one building remained from the former larger court.

Today's street

The street Schrotzberg was named after this location . It branches off from Gruitener Strasse and opens up the Hofschaft, it was named on December 15, 1975.
