Maia Lomineishvili ( Georgian მაია ლომინეიშვილი ; born November 11, 1977 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian chess player .
Life
Maia Lomineishvili studied journalism. Her thesis dealt with the topic of chess psychology . She wrote about chess for a sports magazine, but then decided to pursue a professional chess career. Since 2008 she has been working at the State University in Tbilisi.
successes
In 1991 she won the U14 girls' European championship in Mamaia, Romania , and in 1997 she won the U20 European youth championship in Tapolca, Hungary . She won the Women's Black Sea Championship in Batumi in 2000 (shared with Ana Matnadze and Lilit Mkrtchjan ). In the same year she became the women's student world champion in Varna . She won the Georgian Women's Championship five times: 1996, 1998, 2002, 2009 and 2011. This makes her the record winner among women in Georgia. At the 2004 Women's World Chess Championship in Elista , she was eliminated in the round of 16 against Nana Dzagnidze after she had previously eliminated Alissa Galljamowa , among others .
With the Georgian women's national team, she took part in the 2004 , 2006 and 2008 Chess Olympiads . She won the 2008 Chess Olympiad in Dresden with the team and also received an individual bronze medal for her result of 6 out of 9 on the fourth board. In 2009 she participated in the World Team Championship part of the women between 1999 and 2007, she played in five European Team Championships for women. In 2005 she took second place with Georgia, in 2007 she received an individual bronze medal for her result of 4.5 out of 7 on the reserve board.
In Germany she played in the 1990s for Rochade Kuppenheim in the Baden Oberliga and from 1997 to 2004 in the Women's Bundesliga for the Karlsruhe Chess Friends , for whom she also played sporadically in the 2nd Bundesliga from 1999 onwards . She won the European Women's Club Cup in 2004 and 2005 with NTN Tbilisi . At the Club Cup 2006 she received an individual gold medal for her result of 5 points from 6 games on the fourth board of the Georgian club Energy-Investi Sakartvelo . At the Club Cup 2007 she played for Interplast Tbilisi , at the Club Cup 2009 for Samaia Tbilisi . In Turkey she plays for Servergazi .
In 1995 she became the International Women's Champion (WIM). She has held the title of Grand Master of Women (WGM) since 1996 and the title of International Master (IM) since July 2003 . In February 2015 she is ninth in the Georgian Elo ranking of women, most recently she was among the top 25 in the women's world ranking in April 2001 with an Elo rating of 2,439.
