Maik Wagefeld (born February 25, 1981 in Riesa ) is a former German soccer player who was last under contract with Halleschen FC from July 2011 to July 2014 .
Career
Wagefeld, who is a trained retail salesman, learned to play football in the youth teams of ESV Lokomotive Riesa (1987 to 1990), BSG Stahl Riesa (1990 to 1994) and SG Dynamo Dresden (1994 to 2000).
His professional career then began in the 1999/2000 season at Dynamo Dresden. In his first season he was used in the second half of the season in 13 games in the third-class Regionalliga North / East and reached 8th place in the table with Dynamo. Due to the upcoming regional league reform, this placement was associated with a descent into the fourth-class Oberliga Nordost-Süd . In the coming seasons from 2000 to 2002 in this league, he came to a total of 62 missions in which he scored three goals. In the summer of 2002 Maik Wagefeld rose with Dynamo Dresden after two relegation games against the reserve team from Hertha BSC in the then third-class Regionalliga Nord . In this, Wagefeld scored a further 14 goals in a total of 61 games for Dresden by summer 2006 and thus also contributed to Dynamo's promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga .
In the summer break of 2004, Wagefeld moved to Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg , where he only made three short appearances in the first half of the 2005/06 season after two goals in 21 appearances during the 2004/05 season and returned to Dresden on loan. There he completed 14 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored two goals; Ultimately, however, Dresden rose to the regional league.
For the 2006/07 season Wagefeld moved to the second division Hansa Rostock , where he only came to eleven missions. Before the start of the 2007/08 season, Wagefeld was given immediate approval for a club change by the local trainer Frank Pagelsdorf , as he no longer planned with him. Wagefeld then returned to Dynamo Dresden for the second time on August 6, 2007. In the 2007/08 season he qualified with Dynamo for the newly founded 3rd division . On April 23, 2009 Wagefeld extended his contract with Dynamo Dresden for three more years until 2012, but played exclusively for the reserve team from summer 2010 after a dispute with the then coach Matthias Maucksch .
In the summer break of 2011, Wagefeld moved to Halleschen FC in the now fourth-class regional league after his contract with Dynamo Dresden had been prematurely terminated. He signed a two-year contract until June 30, 2013 and soon became a top performer under coach Sven Köhler - a former Dresden team-mate. At the end of the 2011/12 season Wagefeld rose to the 3rd division with the Halle team. There he was captain and was considered a service provider. His contract is dated until 2015, but in the summer of 2014 the club announced that Wagefeld was no longer part of the squad. The reason was a protracted injury that led to his salaries being taken over by the employers' liability insurance association. His farewell took place on September 24, 2014 at a game between Halleschen FC and Dynamo Dresden.
Others
As part of the betting scandal , in which former Dynamo Dresden players came into the crosshairs of the judiciary, Wagefeld's apartment was also searched and his accounts checked. However, Wagefeld was able to dispel all suspicions.
Wagefeld has been married since December 2011, and in early 2012 he became the father of two girls (twins). The family lives in Dresden.
Wagefeld has been studying event and sports management at the BA Riesa since October 1st, 2014.
