Maksim Semjonov (born September 21, 1985 in Kohtla-Järve , Estonian SSR ) is an Estonian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Tartu Kalev-Välk in the Meistriliiga since 2017 .

Career

Semjonov began his career as a hockey player at HK Central in his hometown of Kohtla-Järve . After spending the 2003/04 season with local rivals Viru Sputnik and Narva PSK , he moved to Tartu Välk 494 in 2004, which in 2007 took on its current name Tartu Kalev-Välk . With the club he won the Estonian national championship in 2008 . In 2009 he moved to Finland for two years, where he stood on the ice for S-Kiekko and the Porvoo Hunters in the Suomi-sarja , the country's third-highest division. In December 2012 he returned to Tartu, where he was again Estonian champion in 2012 and 2015. In the 2015/16 season he played again for Kohtla-Järve Viru Sputnik and was the second best goal setter behind Nikolay Mamadzanov from HC Panter Tallinn . Since 2017 he has played for Tartu Kalev-Välk again.

International

In the junior area Semjonov took part for Estonia in the U20 World Cup in 2005 in Division I, when the team from the Baltic States had to accept relegation to Division II.

With the men's national team he played in the World Championships of Division I in 2005 , 2006 , 2007 and 2008 as well as Division II in 2009 , 2010 and 2012 . He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi .
