Malik El-Tamer

Henry Malik El-Tamer (born May 31, 1977 in Quakenbrück) is a former German basketball player . The 2.05 meter tall indoor player played seven games in the basketball league for Herzogtel Trier during his career .

career

El-Tamer grew up in Cologne, Riyadh , Jeddah and California . During his youth he trained in the men's squad of the Saudi Arabian first division champions Al-Hilal , whose American coach Jeff Armstrong was able to inspire him to continue his athletic career at a private high school in San Diego. Then he studied and played a. a. at Centralia College in Washington State , Casper College in Wyoming and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte . In 2001 he won the Championship of the Conference USA with the Charlotte 49ers against league rivals Cincinnati Bearcats.

In 2001 he returned to his home country and signed with Bundesliga club Herzogtel Trier , for whom he played seven games in the top German division under coach Don Beck in the 2001/02 season. Due to the insolvency of the club, El-Tamer was offered a severance payment to terminate his contract, whereupon he moved to Damascus for the multiple Syrian champions Al Wahda during the season. In 2002 and 2003 he was with Al Wahda Syrian champion, he also took part with the team in the Asian Cup for club teams (ABC Champions Cup).

In February 2004 he was signed by the German second division Bremen Roosters , where he signed a two-month contract. In the 2004/05 season El-Tamer played at FC Schalke 04 also in the 2nd basketball league . In the 2005/06 season he played eight games for the Spanish fourth division Club de Bàsquet Muro and then had stints at the German second division TV Lich and the Bulgarian first division club CSKA Sofia , where he signed a five-year contract. In the 2007/08 season El-Tamer played for the Iserlohn Kangaroos in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB .
