The Malmö Stadium is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Swedish city of Malmö , the third largest in the country. The sports facility now offers space for 26,500 spectators, of which 14,000 are seats. At concerts are, depending on the stage orientation, from 25,000 to 40,000 spaces. In 2009 the 24,000-seat stadium was inaugurated in the immediate vicinity . This is where the Malmö FF football club plays its games after moving out of the Malmö Stadium.

The facility was built for the 1958 World Cup in Sweden . In 1992 it was also the venue for the European Football Championship . For this purpose, the south stand was expanded with an upper tier. In addition to being used as a football stadium, it serves as a venue for athletics competitions and concerts. It occurred u. a. Elton John , Dolly Parton , Rod Stewart , the Eagles and KISS .
The highest number of spectators of 30,953 was counted in the group match between Germany and Argentina on June 8, 1958 at the World Cup. The second highest was with 29,328 spectators that of the local derby between Malmö FF and Helsingborgs IF on September 24, 1967. The pitch made of natural grass has an under-floor heating .
