Manfred Komorowski
Manfred Komorowski (born February 23, 1948 in Wattenscheid ) is a German Romanist and librarian in Duisburg and Essen.
Life
Komorowski made his Abitur in 1966 at the Wattenscheider Gymnasium and studied Romance languages , Hispanic and sports studies at the Ruhr University Bochum , the University of Strasbourg and the University of Salamanca . After the state examination in 1974 he entered the higher library service. In 1974/75 he worked as a library trainee at the Bochum University Library and the Dortmund City Library . 1976 doctorate he in Bochum Dr. phil. Afterwards temporarily at the University Library Freiburg , from 1977 he worked at the University Library Duisburg, which became the University Library Duisburg-Essen in 2003 . He retired in 2013 .
His work focuses on the bibliographical record of old university publications , the history of books and libraries in Duisburg and Königsberg , the history of the Albertus University in Königsberg and the history of German libraries during the Nazi era . He works on the Lexicon of the Entire Book System (LGB 2), on the Old Prussian Biography and the review organ Informationsmittel für Libraries (IFB). He was involved in the source edition on the history of academic libraries in the Generalgouvernement . He is a member of the Historical Commission for East and West Prussian State Research .
