Manfred Ostermann

Manfred Ostermann (born April 30, 1958 in Detmold ) is a German local politician ( non-party ). He's since 2007 District Administrator of the district Heidekreis .

Life

After graduating from high school in Detmold , where he was born, and completing basic military service , Ostermann studied law in Passau and Göttingen . From 1990 to 2001 he worked as an administrative lawyer in the district of Güstrow in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and from 1994 also deputy district administrator.

From 2002 Ostermann was first district councilor and general representative of the district administrator in the district of Soltau-Fallingbostel . After the death of District Administrator Hermann Söder in 2006, Ostermann initially took over the post provisionally and finally ran, supported by the Alliance Competence for SFA , which was established by representatives of the SPD , Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , the Citizens' Union and the Walsroder Citizens List , for the office of the district administrator. In the election on January 14, 2007, Ostermann prevailed with 52.8 percent of the votes against his competitors Karl-Ludwig von Danwitz ( CDU ) and Knut Maass ( FDP ). When he was re-elected on May 25, 2014, there was no opposing candidate, so he was able to extend his term of office for a further eight years with 71.3 percent of the votes.

Private

Ostermann is married and has four children.
