Manfred Schiefer (born July 25, 1946 in Mannheim ) is a German painter and organizer of exhibitions.

Life

Schiefer first attended the Rödel art school for painting and graphics in Mannheim from 1964 to 1968 and then studied a. a. with Paul Berger-Bergner at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences for Design . Then he also attended the photo school in Hamburg and worked as an occupational therapist with drug addicts and the mentally ill. Later he ran his own gallery , organized the "Mannheim Art Fair" and participated with his own works in around 50 exhibitions in Germany and abroad. He has received several international awards for his work.

From 1989 - after moving to Geroda (Lower Franconia) - Schiefer neglected painting for family reasons and instead worked as a freelance journalist and as an organizer of antique and flea markets in southern Germany. It wasn't until 20 years later (2008) that he began to paint again.

Schiefer has lived in Bad Brückenau since 2005 , takes part in exhibitions again and is a member of the Kunstverein in Bad Neustadt (Saale) . Schiefer calls the style of his abstract painting " classical modernism " . In his pictures he expresses what he sees “behind the visible reality”.

In 2012, Schiefer received an invitation from the Republic of Hungary for a working scholarship in the university town of Nyíregyháza , combined with a traveling exhibition through five Hungarian cities.
