Mangen was a location in the north of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The location was in the south of the Uellendahl-West residential area in the Uellendahl-Katernberg district at an altitude of 192  m above sea level. NHN in the Mirker Bachtal on today's Uellendahler Straße . The original place to live was on what is now a car dealership.

Mangen was north of Uellendahler Strasse , opposite to the south is the location Am Haken . Other neighboring locations, farms and residential areas are Am Bruch , Opphof , Am Schnapsstüber , Am Schlagbaum , Am Brucher Häuschen , Weinberg , Wolf and Kempers Häuschen .

history

In the 19th century Mangen belonged to the Mirker Rotte of the Lord Mayor's Office of Elberfeld . The place is marked on the Prussian first recording from 1843 as Mange .

No inhabitants are given for 1815/16. The place, categorized as Kotten according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district in 1832 , was designated as in den Mangen and at that time owned a residential building. At that time, nine people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

The road from Elberfeld via Hatzfeld and Schmiedestraße to Sprockhövel and Witten was built in 1825 , which is now Uellendahler Straße
