Kempers Häuschen , in older spelling also (Am) Kempershäuschen , is a location in the north of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The location is in the east of the Uellendahl-West residential area in the Uellendahl-Katernberg district at an altitude of 211  m above sea level. NHN on the street of the same name, Kempers little house .

Etymology and history

The name can be traced back to a local Kemper family .

The place was first mentioned in 1810. In the 19th century, Kempers little house belonged to the Mirker Rotte of the mayor's office in Elberfeld . The place is marked unlabeled on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824, as well as on the Prussian first survey from 1843. On the Wuppertal city map from 1930 it is marked as Am Kempershäuschen . In the Elberfeld address books from 1850 to 1858 the place is called Kempershäuschen , in 1864 Kemperhäuschen and in 1868/70 at Kempershäuschen .

In 1815/16 there were 33 people living in the village. According to the topographical-statistical description of the Royal Prussian Rhine Province from 1830, 43 inhabitants lived in Kempershäusgen at that time . The place categorized as Kothen according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district in 1832 became at that time as am Kempershä. referred to and owned a house and a farm building.
