Karl Christian von Mann called Tiechler
Karl Christian von Mann called Tiechler (also Karl Christian von Mann called Tüchler) (born December 9, 1773 in Sulzbach , † March 22, 1837 in Munich ) was a German lawyer and editor.
Life
Karl Christian von Mann, known as Tiechler, studied law at various universities and, after completing his studies, was employed in the public service as a real councilor in 1794 . In 1799 he was appointed auditor and in 1807 he was promoted to trainee lawyer in the secret ministerial justice department; as such, he was seconded as a member of the advisory commission in 1808 to deliberate on the criminal code to be introduced.
In 1816 he was appointed President of the Court of Appeal for the Isar District in Munich. In this position, he was also appointed Councilor of State in extraordinary service and he received the title of excellence ; shortly thereafter, in 1822, he was appointed to the State Council in the ordinary service. When the Court of Appeal was to be relocated to Landshut in 1826 , King Ludwig I appointed him Vice President of the Court of Appeal in Munich.
In 1837 he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Estates Assembly by the aristocratic landowners in the Isar district. In the 4th electoral term he was since February 17, 1837 chairman of the committee for the investigation of complaints .
On September 17, 1816 he bought the estate with the hammer castle Theuern from Countess Sophie von Hirschberg and thus became master of Theuern , Salzburg, Querbach, Kempfenhausen , Harkirchen and Mannthal.
In 1818 he founded the magazine Eos - a magazine from Bavaria, for amusement and instruction and published it in the following years.
On October 26, 1812, he married Lukretie Lochner von Hüttenbach. They had a son together: Maximilian Christian Ludwig Ritter von Mann Edler von Tiechler (born April 10, 1847 in Theuern), royal Bavarian chamberlain and captain a. D. (most recently in Infantry Regiment No. 4 in Metz ).
Honors
The king awarded him the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown , and later the Commander's Cross.
Memberships
- He was a member of the Historical Association for Upper Palatinate and Regensburg . In the association a funeral speech was held on him by the pastor and dialect poet Kaspar Deml (1808-1883).
- He was on the board of the Bavarian Polytechnic Association .
- He was accepted as a member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences .
