Mansur Çalar (born February 24, 1986 in Batman ) is a former Turkish football player . The defensive midfielder played at Amed SK for most of his career and later captained his team. After an uproar during a league match in which he physically attacked several opponents with a razor blade, he was banned from the Turkish Football Association for life and is no longer allowed to play football games in Turkey.

Career

Çalar played in his youth with Batman Fatihspor and 72 Batmanspor , in 2005 he signed with Amed SK , which was then called Diyarbakır BB Diskispor , his first professional contract and came to 23 appearances in the 2007/08 season of the third division. He was able to establish himself straight away and made a total of 51 games by 2009 before moving to Eyüpspor in Istanbul . After only nine games, he returned to Amed SK and played another 62 league games, in which he scored 10 goals. After short seasons at Menemen Belediyespor and Trabzon Akçaabat FK , he returned to Amed SK for a second time in 2014 and was one of the big names here, making over 100 league appearances and becoming captain.

Scandal and exclusion

On the 24th matchday of the third division season 2018/19 there was a scandal in a game against Sakaryaspor , when after the game it was shown by video clips that Çalar had smuggled a razor blade into the field and also used it on four opponents and cut the latter . The disciplinary committee of the Turkish Football Association punished Çalar with a four-year ban for this extremely gross unsporting behavior. Since, according to the rules of the Turkish Football Association, an exclusion of more than three years automatically leads to a lifelong ban, Çalar is no longer allowed to play in any game, at least in Turkey, for both professional and amateur clubs. He was also fined 25,000 Turkish Lira (around 4,000 euros). Çalar himself denies the allegations and is of the opinion that he did not use a razor blade or other objects, this cannot be seen on the videos. He has been a professional footballer for more than 15 years and would not allow himself such derailments.

Amed SK stood behind Çalar and claimed at a press conference that Çalar and Amed SK were victims of a plot. The players from Sakaryaspor were programmed from the beginning of the game to provoke the players from Amed SK. As proof of the President of Amed SK Ali Karakaş showed a photograph in which the professional Dilaver Güçlü is to see him during the playing of the Turkish national anthem his hands into a wolf greeting, a distinguishing feature of the far-right movement of the Gray Wolves , shapes. According to Karakaş, if Çalar had used a razor blade, the players would have to roll on the floor in pain or at least bleed, but neither was shown on the videos. In his view, the supposed victims would have inflicted the cuts themselves.
