Marc L. Vogler (born September 19, 1998 in the Ruhr area ) is a German composer and conductor .

Life

Marc L. Vogler received his first piano lessons at the age of four. He was a student of the concert pianists Rainer M. Klaas , Tobias Koch and Paulo Álvares . Vogler was honored early on in national competitions, including prizes at Jugend musiziert 2013 and 2014 at the state level, at the Westphalian Van Bremen piano competition in 2013 and 2015, and at Jugend composed 2015. He was also a multiple singing scholar of the Gürzenich Choir Cologne with Mario Hoff at the University of Music and Dance Cologne (HfMT Cologne), plays saxophone , percussion and organ . Vogler made his orchestral debut as a pianist on November 18, 2015 with the Sinfonietta Hungarica in his hometown of Gelsenkirchen .

Culmination of years from 2013 to 2015 then was the composition of a modern satire - Opera "Concerto for Strings - Con brio without coal" in 2 acts (by self-written libretto ), which on 15 January 2016 the Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen conducted by the composer with 12 Singers and orchestra was premiered. After graduating from high school (Ø 1.0) at the Max-Planck Gymnasium Gelsenkirchen , he began studying composition with Manfred Trojahn in October 2016 with the minor subjects piano and conducting (orchestral conducting) at the Robert Schumann University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf and switched to the University of Music in summer 2018 and Tanz Köln to Brigitta Muntendorf . He made his first appearance as a conductor on June 24, 2017 with the world premiere of his own composition 'Ode to the Ruhr Area' as part of the ExtraSchicht at Zeche Zollverein Essen. A full-page interview with Vogler was published in Der Spiegel magazine . As a student, he also became project-related assistant to Christian von Gehren , guest conductor of the chamber choir of the HfMT Cologne and musical director of the women's choir Con Musica . Vogler has been under contract with a French, international music publisher ( L'octanphare ) since 2017 .

Commissions for compositions followed . a. for the European Classical Festival 2018 with the Pécs Symphony Orchestra , the Sinfonia Königswinter and the concert for the UNESCO candidacy of the French lighthouse Cordouan (2018) as well as premieres at the Eight Bridges Festival of the Cologne Philharmonic (with radio broadcast on WDR 3 ) and with the ensemble MusikFabrik . His engagements took him across national borders to Austria, France ( Composer in Residence 2018 with portrait broadcast), Italy (world premiere of his Ave Maria in Milan Cathedral in 2018) and Japan.
