Marcc Rose (born July 28, 1992 in Brooklyn , New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

life and career

Marcc Rose was born on July 28, 1992 in Brooklyn, one of the five boroughs of New York City, in the US state of New York, where he also grew up. His Trinidadian mother was still a teenager when she gave birth to him; it was her second child after Justin, who was a little older. His father is from Guyana . After living in Brooklyn for a while, his mother moved to Atlanta , Georgia , where he sometimes grew up with his stepfather in the middle class . Rose has six siblings in total. Already during his youth he is said to have been approached on the street because of his resemblance to the rapper Tupac Shakur who was murdered in 1996 . After rumors had already spread in 2009 that a film was planned about the gangster rap group NWA and its members, the first auditions for the film began around mid-2010. The casting stretched over several years, during which, when he heard that someone was looking for the portrayal of Tupac Shakur, Rose sent a headshot of himself to the agency.

Before that, he should have played the same role under director John Singleton in his unfinished biopic about Tupac. However, there was subsequently a falling out with the production company, as Tupac's mother Afeni Shakur (1947-2016) complained about legal violations. Subsequently, Rose was in the same year for the now directed by F. Gary Gray turned biopic titled Straight Outta Compton cast as Tupac Shakur. Rose moved to Los Angeles for filming , where the film premiered on August 11, 2015 in the Microsoft Theater . Towards the end of the year there were again rumors that work on the Tupac biography would be continued; In the end, the decision no longer fell on Rose, but on the also largely unknown Demetrius Shipp Jr. for the role of the popular rapper. The film, titled All Eyez on Me , was later completed by director Benny Boom and hit US theaters in June 2017.

For the role of Tupac Shakur but Rose was for the True Crime - anthology series Unsolved cast and was subsequently in all ten episodes of on USA Network broadcast television series to be seen. In the German-language dubbed version of the series, he was lent the voice by Nico Sablik .
