Marcel-André Casasola Merkle (born August 10, 1977 in Nuremberg ) is a German game designer and illustrator.

biography

Casasola Merkle published more than a dozen games and illustrated over 20. Together with other authors, he has also been active as a game editor on the Annaberg team since 1999 (including for TransAmerica , 2002). He is co-founder (2000) of the small publisher Lookout Games . His games traitors and mutineers were awarded the à la carte card game prize. He is the initiator of the Lexicon of Game Invention, a wiki that deals with the development of author's games .

From 2005 to 2007 Casasola Merkle was first chairman of the game designers guild , the association for game designers. In 2006 Casasola Merkle completed his studies at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne with the animation film “After Midnight” .

Casasola and his brother, the graphic artist Manuel Casasola Merkle , live in Munich. He himself has been a member of the Pirate Party Germany since 2009 and regularly documented the development of the party in the period after the 2009 Bundestag election together with Christopher Lauer in the joint podcast series “Pirate Talks”.
