Marcel Engels (born February 19, 1994 in Hardheim ) is a German handball player .

Career

Engels learned to play handball at TV Hardheim. From the C-youth he played for the Rhein-Neckar Löwen . As an A-youth, Engels moved to SG Leutershausen , with whose men's team he played in the 2nd Bundesliga . The backcourt player later moved to the Swiss first division club TSV St. Otmar St. Gallen , with whom he took part in the EHF Cup in the 2015/16 season . After Engels played for the German second division club HG Saarlouis , he joined TV Großwallstadt in the summer of 2018 .

Engels won the gold medal at the U-20 European Championship in 2014 . In the final he scored five goals. He also won the gold medal at the U-18 European Championship in 2012 and the bronze medal at the U-19 World Championship in 2013 .
