Marcellus Boss
Marcellus Graeme Boss (born January 21, 1901 - March 21, 1967 ) was an American politician . In 1959 and 1960 he was acting governor of Guam .
Career
Neither the place of birth nor the place of death of Marcellus Boss are known. After studying law and qualifying as a lawyer, he started in Columbus ( Kansas to work in this profession) for 30 years. He was also the legal representative of the city of Kiowa , where he was temporarily employed as a city clerk . At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . Between 1945 and 1949 he was an MP in the Kansas House of Representatives .
In 1957, President Dwight D. Eisenhower named Boss Secretary of State for Guam. This office also included the deputy governor. As a result, he had to take over the orphaned office for the period between the departure of Governor Richard Barrett Lowe and the inauguration of the new Governor Joseph Flores (November 14, 1959 to July 9, 1960).
Marcellus Boss died of a heart attack on March 21, 1967 and was buried in Columbus, Kansas .
