Marco Carta (born May 21, 1985 in Cagliari ) is an Italian pop singer. He became known for his victories at the casting show Amici di Maria De Filippi in 2008 and at the Sanremo Festival in 2009 .

life and career

Marco Carta was a passionate singer even as a child. After the death of his parents, he and his brother grew up with his maternal grandparents. He attended a vocational school for electrical engineering and later worked as a hairdresser in his aunt's salon. As a singer he only appeared on a small scale. In late 2007, Carta made it through the castings for the seventh season of Amici di Maria De Filippi . On April 16, 2008, he won the show and received a recording deal with Warner . The single Ti rincontrerò announced the singer's debut album of the same name in the summer of that year. The live album In concerto emerged from the following tour .

With the song La forza mia , Carta took part in the 2009 Sanremo Festival and won it. As part of the festival participation, his second album La forza mia was also released . A year later the singer released the album Il cuore muove ; the first single from it, Quello che dai , could reach the top of the Italian single charts. With Mi hai guardato per caso , however, he announced his fourth album Necessità lunatica in 2012 . In that year he also returned to Amici and went into the race with other former participants in the Big category ; finally he ended up in third place after Alessandra Amoroso and Emma Marrone .

In 2014, Carta had another number one hit with Splendida ostinazione . At the end of the year he released the Merry Christmas EP with well-known Christmas carols . After further single releases, the singer took part in the reality show L'isola dei famosi (Italian version of Survivor ) on Canale 5 in 2016 . In addition, his fifth album Come il mondo was released . A year later, the album Tieniti forte followed - like its predecessor hardly noticed - with which Carta's record deal with Warner expired. In 2018 , the singer came out as homosexual and returned as a guest to Amici , where he presented his new single Una foto di me e di te , which announced the new album. This appeared under the title Bagagli leggeri .
