Alessandra Amoroso (2014)

Alessandra Amoroso (born August 12, 1986 in Galatina , Province of Lecce ) is an Italian pop singer . She became known to a wide audience through her participation in the eighth season of the casting show Amici di Maria De Filippi , from which she emerged as the winner in early 2009.

Career

Alessandra Amoroso had already taken part in singing competitions several times in her youth and, at the age of 17, applied to Amici di Maria De Filippi without success . Five years later she entered the competition for the second time and was able to prevail against the competition. Her music choices included soul and pop music and she sang pieces by Aretha Franklin and Alicia Keys , among others . Several of the songs performed during the show entered the Italian download charts , two of them, Immobile and the final song Stupida , reached number one. A compilation with seven contributions from the show also reached number one in the album charts and was awarded triple platinum for 150,000 copies sold after just a few weeks .

The singer's first studio album, Senza nuvole , written by Laura Pausini's team of authors, followed later that year . Her album presentation in Milan was broadcast via satellite to many cinemas in Italy. The album also reached number one on the charts and sold another 50,000 copies more. Then she toured extensively with the album songs and followed up with a summer tour. In between, she performed at the Sanremo Festival in February 2010 in a duet with Valerio Scanu , who was second behind her at Amici . In addition to these appearances, her third album, Il mondo in un secondo, was created . It was released one year after Senza nuvole at the beginning of October 2010. For the third time, Amoroso reached number one and, with number 28 in the album charts, also her best position in Switzerland.

Amoroso's next release was the live album Cinque passi in più at the end of 2011 . It was the first album to barely missed number one, but the fourth album in a row that sold at least 150,000 copies. In addition to the live recordings, the album also consisted of new songs, which were re-released the following year together with three bonus songs and came back to number one under the title Ancora di più . In February 2012 she performed a second time in Sanremo, this time she sang a duet with Emma Marrone , who won at Amici the year after her . This year there was also the special category “Big” at Amici di Maria De Filippi , in which successful participants from previous competitions took part. There she narrowly prevailed against Marrone in the final in May 2012.

Amoroso released her third pure studio album in October 2013. Amore puro reached the top of the charts as the fifth album, the title track was her seventh top ten hit in the single charts and her fourth platinum single (30,000 copies sold). 2014 Alessandra Amoroso won at the MTV Europe Awards the award for Best Italian Act . She was nominated for the Southern Europe region for the Worldwide Act award. It wasn't until 2016 that, after Alessandra Amoroso , which was produced for the Spanish-speaking market in 2015 , another (Italian) studio album by the singer, Vivere a colori , was released; it reached the top of the chart again and produced a number of successful singles.

Amoroso released the next studio album in 2018, on the occasion of her ten-year career under the title 10 .
