Comunisti col Rolex is a studio album by the Italian pop-rap duo J-Ax & Fedez . It was released on January 20, 2017 on his own label Newtopia distributed by Sony Music .

Emergence

The first rumors that the two were working on a joint album surfaced in February 2016, which J-Ax confirmed. In a later interview it was revealed that the album's goal is to create 30 tracks for nationally and internationally known artists to work on. On November 21, 2016, the two rappers announced the album title. Finally, on December 9th, the release date was announced and the various artists who contributed to the album were introduced; including Giusy Ferreri, Loredana Bertè, Nek and Alessia Cara.

The release of the album was preceded by two singles. The first was Vorrei ma non posto , which was made available for download on May 6, 2016 . At the same time, a music video was released on YouTube , which became the platform's 100 most clicked videos for May. The second single to be released was Assenzio , starring Stash, front man for The Kolors and Levante. Both singles were very successful in Italy and achieved multiple platinum status.

Together with the album, the third single Piccole cose was released, on which the Italian singer Alessandra Amoroso participated. The video clip for the song was viewed more than 1.4 million times on YouTube within the first 24 hours.

On May 12, 2017, a new version of Senza pagare was released as a single; this time with the participation of the American rapper and producer T-Pain . This single went five times platinum in Italy with more than 250,000 copies sold. The accompanying music video was shot in the Paris Hilton mansion .

On October 27, 2017, the last single Sconosciuti da una vita was released. Simultaneously with this a re-release of the album was announced for the end of November of the same year. This new release may contain a. In addition to the standard version, there is also a deluxe edition, which contains five previously unreleased songs as well as a live DVD and a live CD (or two live CDs in the deluxe edition).
