J-Ax & Fedez is an Italian pop-rap duo consisting of rappers J-Ax and Fedez .

Appearance at the Wind Music Awards 2016

J-Ax started his career as a rapper in the 90s in Articolo 31 and started a successful solo career in 2006. He first worked with Fedez, who was 17 years his junior, in 2011 on his album Il mio primo disco da venduto , in the song Alza la testa . J-Ax was also heard again in 2013 on Fedez 'next album Sig. Brainwash - L'arte di accontentare , in the song Sembra semplice . That year they also founded the independent music label Newtopia together . From 2014, the rappers appeared independently on casting shows on Italian television: J-Ax as a coach in The Voice of Italy and later in Amici di Maria De Filippi and Fedez as a juror in X Factor .

After mutual guest contributions in the number one albums Pop-Hoolista (Fedez, 2014) and Il bello d'esser brutti (J-Ax, 2015) published by Newtopia , the rappers announced a joint album in early 2016. In May of that year the duo released their first joint single , Vorrei ma non posto, produced by Takagi & Ketra , which instantly reached the top of the Italian charts. As one of the summer hits of the year, the song turned out to be the most successful Italian song of 2016. At the same time, J-Ax & Fedez launched Newtopia Fabio Rovazzi , in whose viral video (and also summer hit) Andiamo a comandare they had guest appearances. In November, the single Assenzio followed in collaboration with Stash (from the band The Kolors ) and Levante , which again reached the top of the chart. Fabio Rovazzi also landed another number one hit in December with Tutto moltointeresting .

On January 20, 2017, J-Ax & Fedez released their album Comunisti col Rolex , together with the third single Piccole cose (together with Alessandra Amoroso ), followed by a first joint tour. The album hit the top of the album charts straight away. For the summer, the duo re-recorded the song Senza pagare with rapper T-Pain ; in the music video u. a. Paris Hilton made a guest appearance. This, too, was a summer hit that pushed Despacito off the top of the chart at the end of June . At the same time they were involved in the third song by Fabio Rovazzi, Volare together with Gianni Morandi . At the Wind Music Awards 2017 , the duo received six awards as well as one special prize, making them the most successful act at the event.

After another summer hit in 2018 with Italiana , the rappers ended their collaboration and went back to their respective solo careers.
