J-Ax
J-Ax (* 5 August 1972 in Milan ; bourgeois Alessandro Aleotti ) is an Italian rapper and rock musician . With his group Articolo 31 he was one of the pioneers of Italian hip-hop and has been a solo musician since 2005.
biography
From 1990 Alessandro Aleotti alias J-Ax was one half of Articolo 31 , which first brought Italian hip-hop into the charts in 1993. Ten years later, he and his partner DJ Jad released their last studio album together. J-Ax had already taken over the lead of the project and almost single-handedly produced the pop-rock-heavy album. From 2005 he and DJ Jad went their separate ways without officially dissolving Articolo 31.
J-Ax produced his first solo album with the title Di sana pianta in Los Angeles with well-known US support: Samantha Maloney from Hole , Brian O'Connor from the Eagles of Death Metal and Troy Van Leeuwen from the Queens of the Stone Age . It was released in late 2006 and reached number 2 in Italy. Next, he teamed up with Italian musicians and recorded two shorter albums, which were released six months apart in 2009. Rap n 'Roll is a rap rock album in which J-Ax targets the current situation with his usual socially critical lyrics. Guè Pequeno and Space One are featured as guests on the album. Deca Dance , on the other hand, uses Eurodance and also deals thematically with the late 80s and early 90s. Jovanotti , Marracash and Pino Daniele worked here, among others . The albums reached number 2 and number 3 in the Italian charts and were each awarded platinum .
With the album Meglio prima (?) , In German "earlier better", he followed up on both previous albums thematically and musically in 2011. The success also remained and both the studio album and the live version Meglio live! a year later came to number 2 on the charts.
In the following years he founded the Newtopia label together with Fedez . In 2014 he was the first coach for the talent show The Voice of Italy and won the season with his candidate, sister Cristina Scuccia . Shortly before the beginning of the next season, the fifth solo album by J-Ax was released with the title Il bello d'esser brutti . In addition to well-known rappers such as Max Pezzali , Neffa and Club Dogo , his label partner Fedez and two of his team candidates from The Voice are also represented. For the first time he made it to number 1 in the charts with this album and for the first time he was also able to place himself in Switzerland . With the album song Maria Salvador he came to number 2 on the Italian single charts. The album and single went platinum several times.
With Fedez he started the new project J-Ax & Fedez in 2016 , from which the two number one singles Vorrei ma non posto and Assenzio emerged . The collaboration album Comunisti col Rolex was released in 2017, followed by the next number one hit Senza pagare . In April 2018 it was announced that the duo will split up and Italiana will be their last single together. After the separation, J-Ax released solo the best of Il bello di essere J-Ax and the single Tutto tua madre . In 2019 he worked with other musicians, including Ermal Meta and Chiara , and delivered one of the summer hits of the year with the song Ostia lido produced by Takagi & Ketra .
