Federica Abbate

Federica Abbate (born January 23, 1991 in Milan ) is an Italian songwriter and singer.

Career

Abbate began her musical experience with the piano . She studied sociology , but turned back to music after graduation. After winning the first edition of the Genova x voi songwriting competition in Genoa , she was signed to Universal Music . Since then she wrote u. a. Songs for Deborah Iurato , Alessandra Amoroso , Noemi , Arisa , Francesca Michielin and Fedez . With Roma-Bangkok for Baby K and Giusy Ferreri , she was also involved in the most successful song of the year in Italy in 2015. At the 2016 Sanremo Festival , Francesca Michielin performed the song Nessun grado di separazione , which Abbate had co-written; after finishing second in the competition, the song then landed at number one on the charts and was selected as the Italian contribution to the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest .

Abbate has so far appeared as a singer with Baby K (in Chiudo gli occhi e salto ) and the rapper Marracash (in In radio and Niente canzoni d'amore ).
