Baby K (* 5. February 1983 in Singapore as Claudia Nahum ) is an Italian singer and rapper .

Career

Born in Singapore to Italian parents, Baby K grew up in London , where she attended the Harrow School of Young Musicians , and later moved to Rome . From 2000 she presented various radio programs on the subject of hip-hop in Italy and from 2006 she herself worked with various Italian rappers on mix tapes and albums.

debut

In 2008, the rapper made her debut with the Quadraro Basement production team with the EP S.OS , which was followed two years later by the EP Femmina alfa . In 2011 she took part in the Hip Hop Tv Birthday Party in the Alcatraz discotheque in Milan and appeared as the opening act of the rappers Marracash and Gué Pequeno . The third EP Lezioni di volo was released in 2012 and included collaborations with Ensi , Brusco, LaMiss and Ntò. With other rappers like J-Ax , Club Dogo and Fedez she worked with Max Pezzali on the album Hanno ucciso l'uomo ragno 2012 . In the same year she also opened Nicki Minaj's Italian concerts .

First album

After switching to the major label Sony Music , Baby K's first album Una seria was released in 2013 , produced by Michele Canova Iorfida and Tiziano Ferro . The first single from it, Killer , was a collaboration with Tiziano Ferro, and reached number 10 on the official Italian charts of FIMI as well as a platinum award . This was followed by the first tour killer party through Italian clubs and the Una seria tour . Baby K also opened the Azealia Banks concert in Alcatraz in Milan . She won Best New Artist in the Pepsi category at the 2013 MTV Awards . Tiziano Ferro was again involved in the fourth single, Sei sola . The fourth single, Una seria , followed in early 2014 in collaboration with Fabri Fibra . Baby K took along with the hip-hop duo Two Fingerz the song Mi piace on that in their number-one album Two Fingerz V is included. In 2014 he worked with Manuel Rotondo for the finale of the TV show Top-Dj Italia on Sky Uno . At the end of the year, the rapper followed up with the book Come diventare femmina Alfa .

Summer hits and other albums

In early 2015, Baby K announced their second studio album, now produced by Takagi & Ketra . The first single from it, Anna Wintour , was released in early June with an accompanying music video. In the same month the second single Roma-Bangkok was released, in which Giusy Ferreri is also involved. Baby K performed this song at this year's edition of the Coca-Cola Summer Festival . It finally reached the top position of the single charts and was awarded triple platinum. In early September 2015 the album was released under the title Kiss Kiss Bang Bang .

The summer hit series set Baby K 2017 Voglio ballare con te , 2018 with Da zero a cento and 2019 Playa continued. Her third album Icona was also released in 2018 . In 2020 she published the song Non mi basta più with the Italian influencer Chiara Ferragni .
