Michael Götschenberg

Michael Götschenberg (* 1969 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist , author and ARD expert on terrorism and internal security .

Götschenberg grew up on the Lower Rhine . As a schoolboy he lived in the USA for a year. He studied history and politics at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . After completing his studies, he worked for various Russian media in Moscow for a year . In 1997 he went to MDR and initially worked as a freelancer at MDR INFO . There he was employed as a moderator and editor. From 2001 to 2003 Götschenberg also presented the news in the MDR regional magazine Saxony-Anhalt today . As a correspondent for MDR radio, he went to Brussels from 2004 to 2009 , where he reported on the EU and NATO . Götschenberg went from Brussels to Berlin and was first head of the MDR capital studio, then in 2011 the head of the joint capital studio of rbb , MDR, Radio Bremen and Saarländischer Rundfunk .

In February 2013 Götschenberg's book Der böse Wulff? The story behind the story and the role of the media over the term of office of Federal President Christian Wulff . In it, Götschenberg massively criticized the role of politics and the media in addition to Wulff's crisis management during the weeks of the “ Wulff Affair ”.
