Valerio Scanu
Valerio Scanu (born April 10, 1990 in La Maddalena , Sardinia ) is an Italian singer .
Life
Scanu tried to start a music career at the age of ten and took part in the Canzoni sotto l'albero music competition. There he took third place. In 2002 he took part in the TV show Bravo Bravissimo hosted by Mike Bongiorno and achieved first place there. From 2001 to 2007 Scanu tried his hand at singing in a small bar in his hometown of La Maddalena in Sardinia, where he mainly entertained tourists with his singing. In 2007 he made another attempt and applied to a number of casting shows such as Nouvelle Star (France's pop idol version) or the Italian version of X Factor, as well as a musical actor in the musical comedy Giulietta e Romeo by Riccardo Cocciante , but was nowhere accepted. In an amateur production of the bell ringer of Notre Dame in his hometown, he gave the "Gregoire".
In 2008 he finally made it into the casting show Amici di Maria De Filippi , where he took second place. In 2009 his first EP called Sentimento was released . The title track was number one on the Italian charts and the album was awarded a gold record . In October of the same year, Scanus released his self-titled debut album, which reached number four in the Italian charts and was reissued two months later as a limited Xmas edition. In 2010 he won the 60th Sanremo Festival . His song, written by Pierdavide Carone , was called Per tutte le volte che… . At the age of 19, Scanu was the youngest winner in the history of the festival to date.
On February 19, 2010, Scanu's second album Per tutte le volte che ... The title track and Sanremo winning title reached a platinum record with more than 30,000 downloads. The singer also published the autobiography Quando parlano di me . The follow-up album Parto da qui was released in the same year . Both albums reached number 2 on the Italian charts and were awarded gold. In 2011 the latter album was reissued as a tour edition and supplemented with a music video DVD.
The fourth album Così diverso was released on March 20, 2012, followed by the live album Live in Roma in 2013 , recorded during a performance on June 11, 2013 in Rome . After a dispute with his record company, Scanu left EMI and released his first independent album in 2014 under the title Lasciami entrare . On February 12, 2016, Scanus appeared again as part of a renewed participation in the Sanremo Festival Finalmente piove .
