Marco Illbruck (born October 27, 1986 in Varese , Italy ) is a German entrepreneur and former show jumper .

Marco Illbruck is the son of the entrepreneur and equestrian sponsor Sabina Illbruck, as well as the grandson of the entrepreneur and ocean sailor Wilhelm Gustav Illbruck .

Career

Illbruck attended the boarding institute on the Rosenberg in St. Gallen for 4 years , during which time he trained with the Swiss Olympic champion Markus Fuchs . At the age of 16 he returned to his hometown Leverkusen and did his Abitur there. During this time he was trained on the DOKR facility by Markus Merschformann and on his mother's facility by Rudi Könemund . From autumn 2009 he lived in Munich and trained under the show jumping rider Max Kühner . Together with Markus Renzel , Markus Merschformann, Max Kühner, Thomas Grimm , Henrik Griese , Lutz Gripshöver and Alexander Hufenstuhl , he rode for the "Team Sabina Illbruck".

In 2012 he ended his active riding career and moved his center of life from Munich to Berlin, where he joined his parents' family business. Illbruck has been the founding founder of the “Foundation of German Top Horse Sport” since 2013. In 2014 Marco Illbruck founded the beach and resortwear label SWIM WITH MI.
