Marcus Herrenberger

Marcus Herrenberger (* 1955 in Braunschweig ) is a German book illustrator , author and comic artist. From 1990 to 2018 he held a chair for drawing and illustration in the design department of the Münster University of Applied Sciences .

Life

After graduating from the Gaußschule , Herrenberger studied art education and art history at the Berlin University of the Arts . His first work was the illustration of the children's book Freiheit für Zimbabwe , which was published in 1976 by Sendler-Verlag . In 1985, together with Edouard Bannwart, he published On the Footsteps of a City at Ravensburger , in 1987 with Peter-Lutz Kindermann at Nicolai Berlin , a journey through space and time . In 2008 his graphic novel Century of a Rat - Between Lenin, Jazz and Harry Lime / From Casablanca to Kyoto was published in the minedition (Michael Neugebauer Edition), in which the first part from 1917 to 1948 is supplemented by the second part from 1949 to 2008 .
