Marcus Schwier

Marcus Schwier (* 1964 in Düsseldorf ) is a German artist . His main medium is photography .

Live and act

After studying architecture at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences with a degree in engineering, Marcus Schwier studied from 1993 to 1998 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Ernst Kasper with a focus on photography. Mentor was Erwin Heerich .

As a photo artist, Marcus Schwier has been represented in exhibitions in national and international museums and galleries since the mid-1990s. From 2000 to 2002 he was a lecturer in photography at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences in the architecture department. Schwier lives and works in Düsseldorf and on Lake Constance .

Since 1998 Schwier has published almost twenty illustrated books on various projects around the world. His photographs are exhibited regularly and appear in international newspapers and magazines.
