Marcus Strickland (born February 24, 1979 in Gainesville (Florida) ) is an American jazz saxophonist.

Strickland, the son of an orchestral percussionist , grew up in Miami . In 1997 he came to New York , where he gained experience with bands such as The Carnegie Hall Big Band , The Mingus Band , The Village Vanguard Band , the Tom Harrell Big Band , the Milt Jackson Big Band , The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and Reggie Workmans African American Legacy Band garnered. He also worked with Dave Douglas , Jeff Tain Watts , David Weiss and Michael Carvin and for five years with drummer Roy Haynes . With Haynes and Douglas he recorded two Grammy- nominated albums ( Fountain of Youth and Keystone ). In 2019 he was a member of Ben Williams' band .

Strickland recorded two albums ( At last and Brotherhood ) on Fresh Sound Records, and the double CD Twi-Life was released on his own label Strick Muzik . On all albums he works with his twin brother, drummer EJ Strickland (Enoch Jamal Strickland).
